I’ve learned that by no longer fixating on upcoming releases, and instead simply playing the games that I already own, I don’t feel any urgency to have X, Y, and Z revealed. I’m perfectly contempt with Splatoon Raiders, FE:Fortune’s Weave, Bubsy 4D, and Rhythm Heaven all being in my peripheral as I focus on games I’ve always wanted to play e.g. KirbyATFL, DKBananza, MP4Beyond, SMBros2 USA, etc. |
New things are naturally more exciting than old ones and hit differently; even if I have leftovers in my fridge from 3 nights ago, sometimes I just feel like dining out or ordering something fresh.
If new games stopped altogether and I had to spend the rest of my life just playing games that already existed, that would honestly be pretty miserable for me, cos there's just no beating that feeling of something all new and novel.
