Rance series developer AliceSoft announced on March 31 that its official digital store will be closing due to the download platform A-Cute, which sold games on its behalf, ending services.

Earlier that day, A-Cute announced that it would be suspending payment processing starting April 30, 2026, and fully terminating services as of March 31, 2027. This means that users of the official AliceSoft digital store will no longer be able to purchase games from the end of April. More importantly, those who have already purchased games from the store will not be able to re-download them to their PCs following the final closure in 2027.

The list of stores affected according to A-Cute:

● Atelier Kaguya Official Download Store
● Apatite Official Download Store
● AliceSoft Official Download Store
● Windmill Official Download Store
● EVOLL Official Download Store
● F&C Official Download
● Orangette Official Download Store
● Caramelbox Official Download Store
● CLOCKUP Official Download Store
● survive MORE Official Download Store
● SkyFish Official Download Store
● Studio Kame Official Download Store
● Nekoneko Soft Official Download Store
● PurpleSoftware Official Download Store

● HOBiGIRLS STORE Download Site ~FIFTH AVENUE~
● Meteor Official Download Store
● RuneSoft/RunePictures/RuneComic Download Store
● Rosebleu Official Download Store
● WORLDPG ANIME Official Download Stor

Presumably the games available on Steam are safe. The A-Cute announcement does not explain why it is terminating its services.

Well, it's probably like with another service provider that was in the news a couple days ago, who stopped hosting and instead jumped on the IA bandwagon.

But seriously, this should not be possible to simply end the service like that.
