Games that you loved growing up, but later learned weren’t as fondly viewed?

As a huge Godzilla nerd, I played the shit out of Godzilla Save the Earth on the OG Xbox when I was in high school; later I read that it got mixed reviews. I mean, it's clearly no masterpiece, but when you're a 15 year old fan, there was no more fun way to spend an afternoon with mates, except maybe the FPS multiplayer in Banjo Tooie. (Which was basically G-rated Goldeneye, as we weren't allowed games with realistic guns or violence in our household)
