Right now I just want them to leave the classic alone, if I’m being honest 🤣 I don’t really see how they can improve on it. It basicly defined how a lot of 3D games would play for generations afterwards, what are you gonna do to top that?
That being said, I’ll try to have an open mind, after all the 3DS game turned out fine, it wasn’t really better than the original, but a good way to experience it. But maybe I feel it kind of helped that it was on weak hardware, so they couldn’t really make it look modern and shiny, which would have been off-putting to me. I much preferred what they did with that remake/remaster compared to what they did to Link’s Awakening, the Switch version or even the DX version for that matter. That game had such a beautiful artstyle in the original monochrome version, but I guess that wasn’t appealing to the masses.
Can’t complain too much about the Wind Waker, Twilight Princess and Skyward Sword remasters, but I can’t see Nintendo taking that approach to Ocarina of Time, the little tweaks they did to those other games won’t be enough to make OoT look modern.
I hope they won’t take the Snake Eater/Oblivion approach, I genuinely think those remakes just drained the personality out of the presentation.
Then rather go all out nuts and do Final Fantasy VII style and change the game completely.
