You just glossed over that artists, animators and writers are getting fucked over. Producing and consuming digital media is how many people today earn a living, and generative AI is depriving them of that living, especially artists who already have been struggling to make ends meet.

Nope I am not "glossing over." Your original statement was an absolute and general one pertaining to all use-cases, not digital art specifically.

This is what you said.

Using AI generation for ANYTHING is lazy slop.

And I addressed it by noting that AI Generation for protein structures and for math theorems aren't "slop" because the generators are constrained by ground-truths. Again, there is more to the world than your little slice of it.

And now you're calling me and other artists insignificant, while glorifying generative AI.

Have fun with data center fumes and even less drinkable water.

And/or pick up a fucking pencil, something these AI slobs have never even tried in their lives.

Prompting and generating images and videos is not on the same level as making stuff by hand of course but I don't care if someone is doing the former instead of the latter. If someone enjoys sharing that stuff on social media it's completely whatever to me.

It bothers me because they're devaluing actual art and videos, just like Claire Obscura Expedition 33 devalued game design by using AI generated content.
