It's TMR sticks and they do seem real smooth I ran them through the HardwareTester and it showed only a 0.1% error on circularity test so that's great my 10 month old Xbox one is at over 10% average error with big drift on the axis for comparison.

Edit: Added image of them it says Xbox 360 but it's a  Gamesir Cyclone 2 and a Xbox Series controller.

TMR sticks are supposed to be step ahead from Hall Effect ones, and much better than the regular ones used in most official controllers.

It's incredible to think that the Hall Effect technology was already used with the Dreamcast controllers, yet all the other manufacturrs decided to cheapen out on this.

Anyway, the difference between both of your controllers is nuts. I hope it lasts for a long time.

You can understand why they make so much money on accessories in the financial reports they do enough to make the controllers feel premium whilst going cheap under the hood but surely next generation they won't get away with it and need to step up as I'd say this is the first generation where we have multiple companies making controllers that feel good and also have better tech in them whilst in the same price range as official ones.

I will run try and remember to run the test again in a few months and see how it progresses.
