Well AI as a whole does include upscaling in video games, so that is one of the uses thats not harmful? Again when does it become harmful? When AI becomes self-conscious? 

I already stated some pages back the negative effects of AI; that's when it is harmful.

AI in its current form will likely never be self-conscious, the technology is ultimately not real intelligence.
