The regime of Iran is obviously bad, but they can also be victims, and it doesn't make what the US is doing any less bad (also stupid because there doesn't even seem to be a proper strategy). Also, Iran would already have nukes if they wanted, they're not that incompetent to not have reached nuke capability by now if they wanted to - so yes, on their way, but not necessarily wanting to reach the destination.
