Nintendo Switch 2 & Third-Party Support — A Promising Future or A Mere Mirage?

Leynos said: Nintendo handhelds always have strong 3rd party support. Why would that stop now. Their consoles struggled post SNES but never the handhelds. Switch 2 is fine and will be fine as long as the system is selling well.

To clarify: I’m talking from the perspective of third-party software released across Xbox and PlayStation day-and-date— no Nintendo system, not even the handhelds, has received such strong such strong support since the days of the SNES.

Though the fact that we are even discussing a Nintendo system capable of running home console software from the perspective of Nintendo’s handheld dominance — of which Nintendo has essentially held a monopoly over since the Game & Watch — does suggest to me that you too see this early success as a positive indicator for future third-party support.
