The article about his move from Capcom at DSOG theorizes that they may have been "forced" to remove it because Enigma caused a much bigger performance hit than Denuvo did, and players were complaining about it. I don't know if it's true, but it could be a temporary solution from Capcom until they figure out what's causing the problems and then bring it back.
One thing I thought since this rumor/leak launched is that, how many first party titles can Sony launch? And I'm talking real first party titles, not timed or console exclusives bought from third party publishers. Because other than Insomniac, how many of their studios can actually launch more than one game per gen right now? Naughty Dog hasn't even launched one new game yet, and the PS5 has been in the market for 5 years. |
The reason for the reduced output from their studios is the insanely stupid GaaS push from Jim Ryan and Hermen Hulst. Without it, the output would have been significantly higher. The now shuttered Blue Point would have likely had release two games by now and be in the midst of a third. Naughty Dog wasted years on GaaS focued TLOU Factions title...and I'm off on a tangent that's topic related. Sorry about that.
