First of all let me state that about the official podcast, I have not been replied back by Benga or Naznatips, who I sent a reply email to asking details. I have no idea what their thoughts are about the official podcast or if it'll ever happen.
However I've had clearance of the community podcast for awhile and I'm ready to detail show 1. First of all the podcast will consist of 4 people. One of those is already me, your host. I'm looking for a long time secondary co-host and then two other willing participants who'll be on an off. Might be changed in and out depending on the show. The first show though will just be 3 people that want to participate, but I am looking for a co-host. Pretty much a co-host is there to backup the host and it gives a familiarity to listeners. And it's always best to work in pairs haha, at least from what I've noticed in previous podcasts.
Second, now if you want to be in the podcast, you must PM me upon reading this topic. Within that PM I'll discuss a few more things. Remember if your going to be in the podcast you MUST have a PC MIC. It's the most important aspect haha. I really don't care what you are a fan of or whatnot. But I do want respectable members. That doesn't mean you can't be controversial, but when I mean respectable I'm talking about long time member, long time poster, and overall patriot of VGC. I mean you are representing our entire community, so we don't want to show the rest of the visitors we are a bunch of hicks and bafoons. Remember this show is community, but it's under the supervision of the site which I understand why. Meaning we just can't say anything. Thus I would like it if language, slurs, ect are kept to a minimum in discussion. I'm not saying you can't drop the F-Bomb, because trust me I'll drop it multiple times, but ya know just dont' say every other word being a curse or racial word. And absolutely no N word. That's just a pet peeve of mine. But it's not as hard as ya think so yall are probably mostly qualified.
Now moreso during podcasts you are to understand that they need your full attention. Meaning eating or things like that will simply give bad feedback. Alot a certain time for it, and make sure that no one else is on the internet, especially downloading stuff. Want to have the best connection possible. The people I want in my podcasts essential are respectable members with a personality but dont' mind holding back. So remember PM me if you want a role. Who I choose to be in it is under my discretion, unless a site admin tells me otherwise. I choose based on who is best in the podcast and do not have any biases towards any of yas.
Now here's details on the actual podcast. The podcast lenthg will run anywhere between 30 minutes to an hour and 15 minutes. I'll try not to let it got any longer, but we can squeeze a lot in that time. However if it runs a little bit over then no prob. I'm going to try to do podcasts every other week, but no guarantees as I have a life as well haha. The podcast will consist of several sections, including news, sales, discussion, reviews, previews, and the most important one reader questions. However considering this podcast will be before E3, we will keep it simply to E3 discussion and news and reader questions.
Tenatively podcast time is set for this Saturday, July 12, 2008 at 9:00 PM EST. The time is a guess, but it seems to usually be the best time for most. However it can be adjusted so it's not set in stone. The program we'll be using will be disclosed in the PM so don't worry about that and it's completely free.
Now also here I'm asking the future listeners and users of this sit to participate in reader questions. Basically you post a question concerning something about gaming or sales and we'll answer it in the podcast. Now it doesn't have to be about E3 08 but it sounds like a little more appropriate considering the situation. Depending on how many questions we get will depend on how many are used. I'll simply take what I think is the best questions out of the bunch.
Alright podcast after record usually is up within the next couple of days so start submitting some questions. Glad this can be the first ever VGC Community podcast and hope for many more to come.
