For personal preference? The Switch is one of my favourite consoles of all time. The PS2 isn't.
But I didn't play much in between Dreamcast and Wii mainly because of shifting life priorities in my young bachelor years. It just happened PS2's heyday was at that time.
EDIT: on a side note, I'll add that the Wii also fell into my "bachelor period" timeslot, but it was far more compatible, so it ended up being a much bigger part of my life than other consoles at the time.
