That's because most people who play games and are just normal folk are now considered "right wing". All it takes is to not agree word for word on some single talking point with the loud left, and in the right wing box you go.
I've been gaming since the eighties and there was never a problem with politics until 2012 or something like that. We did not start this, the lefties came in and started pissing on everything we loved and now we are all here. I guess it was inevitable when gaming transitioned from cringy nerd activity to mainstream popularity and new demographics started pouring in. Mind you, it's not all leftists, just the loudest internet minority, but the internet is such a power multiplier for hot takes that everybody gets dragged into it.
