Some games do deserve it to be fair, but in most cases its just trolls looking for any excuse to dunk on something. Not everything needs to be about team red vs team blue, but some people are so consumed by fanatical allegiance to their ideology that they see absolutely everything as a battleground where they must aggressively force their views on others. A really annoying part is just how much people like that have infested social media. A few years back you had the latter camp treating Hogwarts Legacy as some sort of purity test to an extreme degree that you had certain streamers getting outright harassed for playing it when no well adjusted person you'd see outside on the street going about their day would get upset if someone they knew played a popular video game. There thankfully hasn't yet been another case as extreme as that since then.
