A price drop would work for the 360, but they honestly don't need it. They don't need to compete with Sony because there is honestly nothing for them to compete with at this point in time. They're still selling better thant he PS3 and showing no lag in sales, and until due time have no reason to make fans think they need to dance to Sony's tune (i.e. they need to counter everything Sony does or they can't survive).

One could argue the price cut would be a surprise before the Halo3 release to make the phenomenon even more magnificent.

Um three straight months of under 200k sales in the US, and a probable fourth upcoming when we see June figures. It may be selling better than the PS3 but it's definetly lagging a bit now in sales. IMO the 360 has to put distance between itself and the PS3 or else the PS3 can easily catch up and surprass it in 2008 and 2009. Just selling better shouldn't be good enough, that why I think they need to cut prices soon.

But worldwide the 360 is selling much better. Why do people always need to use specific market to hide the truth of the bigger picture here?

Did it ever occur to you that Halo 3 will sell better than any game comming out for the PS3 this year? Perhaps they don't need to bother with such measure until they see real problems in their sales.
