I certainly don't know if I'd say Wii had a higher proportion of shovelware than the NES; the bulk of that system's library was pretty poor, but that didn't matter cos it also had some of the best games ever.

Regardless though, anyone with the perception that Wii was nothing but shovelware was/is simply ignorant, the existence of games like Mario Galaxy or Twilight Princess weren't exactly a secret.

Gotta remember the average consumer is not enthusiasts like us. Don't  keep up with gaming news.just what they see in the store.
