Apparently it's not as straightforward as them being able to full uncensor it in the west and get it passed the console submission process. It looks like they're going to be uncensoring piece by piece to see what they can get away with and still appease the nintendo content guidelines.

Again they highlight the guidelines are in accordance to ratings boards that is the defining factor here and how other games don't have the same issue it seems more like Adhoc didn't know the proper procedure being a small studio rather than the guidelines being an issue.

Agree to disagree. Ad-hocs statement in response that directly quotes Nintendo's own response makes it clear this isn't the issue imo.
