yeah it seems so random. I didn't even know this movie was out, though to be fair thats the case with most movies these days. Until right around when the second movie came out I thought Cameron had abandoned the idea of making more of them.
The first movie sold insane amounts cuz it was crazy hyped up with like all new digital movie tech put into it and whatnot, and most people seemed to think the movies were at best enjoyable but nothing special. But obviously the sequels don't have that kind of hype so I'm like how they hell are these sequels flying past $2 billion (assuming this one will as well). I watched the second one online and didn't bother finishing it, though I liked the first one just fine, good but not great. These movies coming out so many years after the original that mostly sold on massive marketing hype...i woulda figured these movies would make a half a billion or so but not much more. These numbers are wild.
