The sales in Europe are still there and the PS3 is still number 1 on Amazon.
Sega didnt have any other divisions and had a much, much, much smaller bank ballance than Sony does just cause they filed a loan doesnt mean anything every company needs to file a loan sometime in their life time even the most profitable. IF Sony were to go bankrupt the Japanese government has to give them a no interest loan so they can get back on their feet if they are or look like a good company i.e Sony, Nintendo, Toshiba etc.
Sega hadnt been profitable for a long time before the Dreamcast and it was the final nail in the coffin.
