Playing through Rematser and this may be the point at which I quit lol. How is Prime 4 for the backtracking?

Seeing this video has 10k views I'm glad I'm not alone in being utterly confused by the backtracking sometimes. I never had this problem with Metroid Prime 3 (the first one I played) I just don't find it organic or intuitive, its like remember this random room you entered 2 hours ago. Go back there, run through all the respawning enemies and be careful not to waste your time returning to a different area which also had a secret path but one which you still don't have the right tools for...

And I'm a lover of Zelda and open ended exploration but in Metroid it's just frustrating me, I think because the world isn't especially inviting beyond scanning. It's not like I'm interacting with people and looting enemies, or finding unique collectables in the meantime, it's just feels like time wasted whenever I take a wrong turn and having to run through the dozens of little segmented rooms is a bit of a ball ache

Haven't played Prime 4 yet but the main criticism I've seen is of how linear it is, and how most areas seem to be a completely straight shot. So you're probably looking at something similar to Prime 3, maybe even more straightforward than that.
