For 40 it'll likely be DOA.

Seems like they're just price-matching what the rest of the Extraction Shooter genre goes for. Arc Raiders being the success that it is at $40 is both the best/worst thing to happen to Marathon.

Best in terms of it's allowed the extraction shooter genre to go a little into the mainstream, so there will be even more eyes on a new release in the genre, and with a name like Bungie behind it, should bring even more initial interest.

Worst in terms of pretty much everyone that plays in the genre is currently playing Arc Raiders lol. Even Tarkov is struggling. So if Marathon is not anywhere near as good as they're presenting it, those players will just go back to Arc Raiders.
