Nintendo is playing it way too safe to be a competitor to PS5 but maybe in their business vision they don't even consider PS5 a competitor. I don't get your point at all, Switch reached 153M+ sales by basically having little of the library of games that PS have. So people buying Nintendo consoles evidently don't buy it for the type of games that are available on PS, we see this clearly from the best selling games on PS vs Switch, there is no overlap at all. People that play CoD, Battlefield etc are not the same audience that buy Nintendo consoles, those people are already on PS/PC and has always been on those platforms to begin with.
Switch 2 is clearly not a competitor to PS5 in the way Xbox series was a competitor, due to Nintendo not having the same software library and thus not the same audience overlap that PS shared with Xbox.
