Activating Windows for free is actually extremely easy, it'll take like a minute or so and you can even upgrade it to the Pro version for nothing so all you need to do is just install Windows 11 and then follow that post to remove the watermark. Also for building it assuming it's your first time don't be surprised if it takes quite a few hours but it'll be worth it in the end not just to save money but also give you experience so you're able to troubleshoot it yourself in the future some if need be.
