Square has many teams capable of producing turn-based games with a budget similar to E33s. In fact, they release quite a few turn-based titles but none of them are that good. Even their HD-2D series, which I like a lot, has its issues

Octopath, for instance, has very solid tactical combat and a great job system. As far as turn-based tactical gameplay goes, it's one of the finest systems we have on the market right now... but it also suffers from a somewhat repetitive gameplay loop (and some outdated design choices, like random encounters), and it’s extremely grindy. The story is also disjointed because of the game's structure several character arcs that barely come together
