It's possible that those things affect the game in a significant and negative way? Sure. Everything is possible.
Do we have enough evidence that points to something like that? Not even close. In fact, the same previews that have overblown the NPC situation have made abundantly clear that literally everything else is great and feels exactly like a Metroid Prime game.
So yes, I would say this is an overreaction. Even if the game ends up being bad, based on what we know right now, acting like the game will be bad because of an NPC and a bike is not very rational. Specially this level of commotion.
