I'm personally someone who believes there is an intentional bias among voters. The same way there are "oscar baits" there are also "TGA baits" releasing every year (mostly narrative driven action-adventure games)

But... Death Stranding is a japanese game not western. Edit I also checked the nominations per publisher (by wikipedia). Sony is a bit of an oddity because they publish games from both western and eastern studios
