My first exposure to Metroid was through Super Smash Bros. on the N64 where I originally thought Samus might have been a character from F-Zero. A few years later, I played the Metroid Fusion and Prime demos at store kiosks, but they didn't really vibe with me (I was 11 at the time). When the original DS came out, it launched with Metroid Prime Hunters First Hunt, which I really enjoyed and blew me away playing a game that looked and controlled like that on a handheld device.
Then, when Prime 3 was announced for the Wii, I thought the controls (and the game itself) looked incredibly intriguing, so I went back and played Metroid Prime (and unlocked Metroid NES on it) and loved them both. While waiting for Prime 3, I played Prime 2, Hunters, and Super, and soon discovered the series was one of my favorites in gaming.
I have played all of the games since (outside of Pinball and Federation Force) and, while skeptical of what we have seen so far of 4, can't wait to play it.
