I feel like Nintendo does this with their games sometimes where they don't show off too much and people get nervous.
I remember the same feeling with Mario Wonder. At the time right before release we didn't get too much gameplay or videos or direction. Fans seemed to think it was looking very much like another "New" Super Mario Bros title (like the Wii version which everyone was sick of). But we were all pleasantly surprised with how Wonder turned out and it got great reviews across the board. A great revival of 2D Mario franchise.
I feel the same happened with DK Bananza. It was awesome to see a new 3D DK game, but we didn't get THAT much gameplay videos of it. And I was starting to become skeptical if this was going to be everything I wanted. And what do you know? It was amazing!
So while things don't look great for Prime 4 right now...we have to keep faith in Nintendo and Retro. They rarely put out bad games, especially with their top franchises. I am definitely getting a little worried. What I see hasn't been great. But I'm still hyped for it and believe it will be a great game.
"If new things are so great, where have they been the whole time?"
