According to David Gibson, a Japan based gaming analyst Capcom said this about the Japanese market:
''According to Capcom, some PS4 owners are upgrading to the Switch 2 instead of the PlayStation 5.''.

Would explain why Capcom so quickly dumped PS4 release for RE9 in favour of Switch 2 release. This will be a boon for the Switch 2 given the amount of Japanese stuck on PS4 still in Japan.
