I think there is genuine cause for concern honestly. The way Nintendo has treated it this year has just been odd, almost stuffing it in parts of their Directs where they hope most people won’t even be paying attention.

The trailers themselves have been odd, especially random psychic powers with no further explanation and random motorcycle rides through empty looking open worlds.

But most of all, Retro in 2025 is an unknown quantity. They haven’t put out a game in 11 years. Absolutely no one knows what kind of a studio they are these days. Do they even have most of their talent from their heyday around anymore?

It’s all just a giant question mark until the game releases, not made very assuring by the way Nintendo is treating a game they know people have been waiting for for a decade.
