I've never really had an issue with the L3 to sprint thing. Sure pressing the stick is more awkward than a button but it's not like you're pressing it for an action like jump.
Never felt the need to use the back buttons on controllers or handhelds like the deck/ally. The only time I use them is when I'm playing a game without gamepad support that needs more bindings than I have other buttons.
But yeah... even if this was a vital feature for me I still wouldn't consider the overpriced Switch 2 Pro Controller. The 8BitDo ultimate also has back buttons you can remap to any other button, and works on Switch 2.
