Honestly, the more I see of it, the more I dislike it.
It just looks so generic, and image quality and pop-in are pretty bad, (though both could improve by launch hopefully) it just lacks the "soul" of the original.

Where did you hear this? As you mentioned, Microsoft has had devs kits long enough to bring over Tony Hawk and Indiana Jones… so I wouldn’t think that’d be the issue? Though IDK. My personal theory is that it’s the same reason NS2 hasn’t received CoD yet… which is another question we don’t have the answer to lol. Prolly just very demanding to optimize (these games are often hundreds of GB after-all), and so, maybe the costs outweigh the benefits on a system with such a small install base, especially when the games don’t have super strong legs past a year. |
DF and other outlets had heard from some third parties that even after the release of Switch 2 they were still waiting on devkits.
Tony Hawk was made by porting studio Iron Galaxy, such studios were likely prioritised by Nintendo.
But yes, optimization taking time could be a factor as well. Third party support already looks to be increasing in 2026, just from what's announced so far.
