I don't go around a lot hunting for new music to listen to anymore (especially since I'm picky and what 'should' work for me usually doesn't), so I'm sure I'm missing a lot of music, but let's go with Tempest by Amorphis, my favourite band (metal, unlike what's been in this thread so far, also beware a bit of growling vocals if that's not your thing):
The album took a while to grow on me, but that it's grown on me, Tempest might be what I consider the best song, thanks to the great vocal performance and the lyrics (which is something I rarely appreciate in songs, but for one reason or another, I do in this one). It's probably not going to end up being my favourite song of the decade, at least in terms of how much I listen to it, but I certainly appreciate it a lot.
