Speaking of World wars, the current Russian tactics of sending in small groups to find and exploits weakspots and then sending in more troops to exploit them

That tactics actually works very well. The key is those groups are plain clothes men (no uniforms, no visible weaponry) which intermingle with the local people (many of which are Russia friendly in the eastern regios) while doing their spywork.

I never said the contrary. Just look up Kaiserschlacht, which is the biggest offensive that Germany did during late WW1. In just one day they conquered as much terrain as the Entente did during the entire Somme offensive 2 years prior. Germany practically didn't have any tank, which is similar to the Russian position right now, and needed to find a way to break strongpoints without sending tens of thousands of men to their deaths as was standard during WW1.

I'll still call the Russians noobs, Germans advanced way faster than the Russians do with the same tactics and similar odds
