People can just admit Nintendo made a very nice piece of hardware and swallow their pride, but some are still going to bang their head against the wall I guess. It holds its own against $1000 hardware because it's well made hardware.
Wii/DS era was just that an era, an era that is over ... if you that was going to be Nintendo's hardware philosophy forever, you were naïve and don't understand your own gaming history, Nintendo has a long and varied hardware history long before those casual centric systems.
Nintendo is back to offering very good hardware performance for a reasonable price point, just as the NES, Super NES, N64, and GameCube all did in their day.
