And @Shameless: Hardware generally does become less reliable OVER TIME. I've personally had one problem with the PS2 and DRE, but that was an easy fix. How many known cases of hardware were dead within the first week, though? I'm being modest. I've had a friend who's 360 died the day he bought it along with Halo 3. |
Apart from the 360, I've found the opposite to be true with past console (Megadrive\NES\SNES\Saturn\PS1\N64\PS2)
I've had a NES that broke after a few months, and 1 that still works...Same with a SNES...A Megadrive that still works...Saturn that was dead after 7 months (laser) and a newer model version that still works...same with a PS1 and the same with a PS2...Although lately the CD reading has gone a bit dodgy...
Overall found that most the old gen consoles, as in Pre 360\PS3 get more reliable the longer you own them (much like a TV, if it doesn't break within a year it prolly won't "ever" break...almost literally ;))
