Let’s compare Nintendo published titles for Switch & Switch 2 first 12 months.

Switch March 3, 2017-March 2, 2018

March 3-Breath of the Wild, 1-2 Switch
April 28-Mario Kart 8 Deluxe
June 16-ARMS
July 21-Splatoon 2
August 29-Mario+Rabbids Kingdom Battle
September 22-Pokken Tournament DX
October 20-Fire Emblem Warriors
October 27-Super Mario Odyssey
December 1-Xenoblade Chronicles 2
February 17-Bayonetta 1+2

Switch 2 June 5, 2025-June 4, 2026
June 5-Mario Kart World, BotW/TotK ports
July 17-Donkey Kong Bananza
July 24-Super Mario Party Jamboree+Jamboree TV
August 28-Kirby & the Forgotten Land+Star Crossed World
October 16-Pokemon Legends ZA
November 6-Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment
November 20-Kirby Air Riders
December 4-Metroid Prime 4: Beyond
February 12-Mario Tennis Fever
Spring 2026-Yoshi and the Mysterious Book
Spring 2026-Super Mario Bros. Wonder+Meetup in Bellabel Park

Now let’s get rid of cross-gen titles and updated ports

Switch 1
1-2 Switch
ARMS
Splatoon 2
Mario+Rabbids Kingdom Battle
Fire Emblem Warriors
Super Mario Odyssey
Xenoblade Chronicles 2

Switch 2
Mario Kart World
Donkey Kong Bananza
Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment
Kirby Air Riders
Mario Tennis Fever
Yoshi and the Mysterious Book

Mario Odyssey and BotW alone are enough to carry Switch over Switch 2 IMO. That's an insane duo to drop in a single year. Switch 2 has had a very solid start, though!

Sure, those are major releases, my issue is people counting BotW as a major Switch title despite being cross-gen while simultaneously discounting Pokemon Legends or Metroid Prime because they are cross-gen.
