I hope so but one concern at the moment is that Nintendo maybe slow to adopt new rendering/graphical techniques. And they'll work with their existing toolset but with more scale/density and essentially we'll have games that don't really look like modern experiences but just early PS4 games/pretty Switch titles at 1080p/1440p 60fps. Kirby, MK World and DK are examples of this. |

Yeah Luigi's Mansion 4 is the main title I'd look to to really show what the hardware can do, 3 looked insane on Switch 1 already. Hopefully it's not far off, Next Level's last game was in 2022 and they're usually pretty productive.
The last two Luigi's Mansion game haven't been handled by Nintendo's internal teams, but by Next Level Games in Canada who typically push graphics technology harder than EPD does. |
Yeah, Luigi's Mansion 3 is, arguably, best looking Switch game, that has sort of that "playable animated movie" look to it - I'd say folks at NLG really know what they're doing. Admittedly, fixed camera and small spaces really helps them to finely tune every aspect of it, but with higher res and RT thrown in I'm expecting next Luigi's Mansion to end up as best looking on Switch 2, again.
