When did the so-called "alt left" (who has never held power in the U.S) use the FCC (a part of the executive branch of the U.S government) to get people fired for protected speech? The closest thing was IRS targeting controversy under centrist Obama and there was a strong blowback for it from the public generally, across the spectrum. And of course it isn't that close as the initial claims of being targeted turned out to be exaggerated.
