I have some of the original the quality of them wasn't consistent, Samus and EMMi in UK has always been £35 which is $50 not $30 and came out in 2021 so isn't even close to being one of the original in fact ammibos been around £25 to £35 for a while now.

If you want older quality figures for the original price, take a look at things like Wolf Link amiibo (2016) or Mario's 30th Anniversary amiibo (2015). I think you'll agree that they look pretty good compared to current amiibo.

This is not acceptable. There hasn't been a jump in quality. Only in price. And even if there was a jump in quality, it's still a cheap tiny figurine at the price of almost a full game. It's insane.

IDK if it’s worth arguing, but (a.) there is currently 55% tariffs on dolls and other action figures shipped out of China, and (b.) there has been a major boost in quality (size is an objective metric, and the latest figures are at least twice the size of the E.M.M.I. & Samus figures. Additionally, larger allows for greater detail). Yes, $40 is a lot for a single figurine, and yes, companies are greedy, but I don’t think Nintendo is under the illusion that they can “get away” with charging so much. In fact, I believe Nintendo is well aware that $40 is too much for the casual consumer, as explained by their decision with this newest line of figurines to cater not toward to casual crowd (via being affordable), but to the core crowd (via being luxurious).
