Sad thing is, it wasn't always like this. Sure, they have always have their fair share of greedy practices. But in general, Nintendo has been pretty affordable compared to other consoles ecosystems up until the Switch 1 era. And even during the Switch 1 era, buying games at launch for example, was considerably cheaper than on other systems by quite a bit. But what they have done now is just ridiculous. They haven't just matched the competition in terms of game prices and shitty DLC shenanigans. They have surpassed them! Right now, there's absolutely nothing about Nintendo that I can say is better for the consumer compared to the competition. It's the opposite: everything is worse and more greedy than the competition. We all went mad at the 3D All-Stars situation. 60 dollars for 3 old games with barely any improvements that couldn't be done by an emulator. And now they are selling us 2 old games (one of them already ported to the Switch) with even less work at 70 dollars. They have no shame. Maybe they are in need of another Wii U situation to knock them off their pedestal. |
100% agreed. Nintendo is why I started getting into emulation. They are shameless at this point.  Mario 64, sunshine, galaxy 1 and 2 for $40 would be fair. $40 for just galaxy, lol, obscene. |
Or you could just not play them. You're not entitled to play whatever you want. A company has the right to charge whatever they feel their product is worth. You have the right to not buy it and do something else.
