The tone shift from MAGA before and after they find out who the shooter was is quite strong.
It's hard to tell the difference between those who are acting in bad faith, and those who are just stupid.
Because if you consider the possibility that it may be a right-wing shooter, why say so much prematurely in full confidence that will look embarassing for you?
And they really should have considered that he may be a right-winger.

Hortman murderer - Trump supporter
I'm not suggesting that all political violence is from right wingers, nor am I going to highlight the percentage.
He could still be a leftist, but it just seems idiotic to rule out the possibility that he's not, before knowing anything.
I can only imagine it stems from being exposed to a great deal of disinformation.
Or when you want to spread more disinformation.
It seems to be very effective. The Patriots from MGS2 were right.
