Let's look at some achievements made by lefts (from the perspective of a first world country):
Work related:
- worker's unions -> labor rights -> less exploitation
- health and safety measures
- maximum work hour limitations
- minimum wages
- a bunch of holidays
- the weekend
- no more slaves and child workers
Social security:
- financial support after losing a job
- financial support for low-income households
- financial support for medication, drugs and hospitalisation
- financial support after retirement
Other:
- freedom of speech -> the ability to critize the current leaders without fear of repercussions
- free schools and kindergartens
- free or cheap public transportation
- maximum tresholds for an appartment's rent
- cheap loans for college students
- high food standards
