Right on the cult of personality thing, and that's exactly why he will be much weaker than trump has been. He won't have this huge fanbase that trumpnhas brought with him. 

Vance will have Peter Thiel pulling the strings. And the other basic problem is that Congress and the courts will still be just as awful. 

Still, at this point, we’re stuck with Vance if Trump becomes unable to perform (that’s what she said!) so hopefully Vance will face the same pangs of conscience that Pence did when it became clear that MAGA 1.0 was going off the rails.
