I was kinda thinking they might wait till next year to do this but I suppose sooner makes more sense business wise. At least the increase isn't big like with Xbox though safe to say PS5 sales will still slow down notably starting next month over there which is rough since the US has been where it's been doing the best. Also anyone in the US who can afford a Switch 2 right now no issue, is certain they'll get one at some point and doesn't want to wait for a better model a few years from now should really get one soon cause a price increase for that within the next year is probably likely.

Considering Microsoft doesn't care much about selling Xbox hardware any more it's less that and more to avoid PS5 sales outright tanking in the US I'd say.
