So who is at fault here, the EU for making the law or the corporations, I am still at a loss at who you are aiming your ire at. How do you actually do an age verification if you do not submit something to actually prove your age. If you are not of the age to use a certain product or information than it doesn't matter if you believe you paid for it. That is like saying I paid for internet and I am 16 years old so I should be allowed to go to any site I want including porn site. Your government has deem you should not be allowed to do so and instituted laws against it. Its actually not the site that has instituted what is used to verify your age its actually the EU which has set the guidelines to what is acceptable.  |
Look how you've already resorted to conflating two separate issues.
The fact that these laws have already spread to blocking 'social features' on gaming platforms, means their intentions were obviously polluted to begin with. It had nothing to do with protecting children.
Both the law makers and corporations are in bed together when it comes to overreach and abusing their power. We should be protecting our rights from both of them, not trying to simp for one or the other and trying to give reason to their obvious greed for power and money.
