Its this all because of the law that was passed in the EU. I believe we will be seeing something of the same thing with Sony as they will need to comply as well. Not sure if this effect Nintendo because they already do not allow this on their console I believe.
Also from what I read is that it uses age simulation which I would believe is the date of the account. If you like myself have had an account since the first Xbox, well there is no need for all that other stuff. Should be interesting how this will be done with other games and services like Steam.
