I will post a few and maybe will add more with time:
1) The Verve - A Storm In Heaven (1993)
Most people know The Verve by The Bitter Sweet Symphony, but they had an amazing debut album in 1993, they peaked with this album :D Genre wise I guess it is dream pop/rock. The highlights of this album are the otherwordly guitar riffs that often sound more like synthesizer sounds.
2) Alice in Chains - Dirt (1992)
This grunge album is simply nuts and shows what can be achieved with hard drugs o_o
3) David Sylvian - Gone to Earth (1986)
This is a very authentic, atmospheric and memorable album that is underrated? The first half of the album is slow, melodic pop and the second half is instrumental/ambient.
4) Simple Minds - New Gold Dream (1982)
This is my favorite summer album. I think it is their best album by far and their only great album from start to finish.
5) Type O Negative - October Rust (1996)
To continue with seasons, this is my favorite autumn album. It is hard to describe this metal/goth/doom/whatever album but in one word it would be MAGIC
Deus Ex (2000) - a game that pushes the boundaries of what the video game medium is capable of to a degree unmatched to this very day.
