Just want to add:
Regardless of which of my opinion or claims above, I overwhelmingly think that this right now is a horrible situation for Xbox as a brand, even worse than any other situation they've been in before.
They want to put out a "biggest generational leap" machine, but nowhere near the horizon I could spot content that would support it.
Unless there are unannounced projects already in the works.
But, from whom?
Fallout or TES6 are years away. Fable is announced as a Series generation game. The same with Gears of War E-Day. The Halo and Forza teams were effected by cuts. The next Doom isn't even announced yet. And Call of Duty is still dragging PS4 and Xbox One - I don't see the capacity at ABK that they could work on three different hardware iterations engine-wise to support One, Series and Xbox Next.
And 3rd parties are currently involved with GTA6, Witcher 4, Wreckfest 2, MGS3 & what not else. All priorized for current-gen by ressources of limited time, personell and money.
I mean, what do I know eventually, right?
Everything's a possibility to be happening right now behind the scenes.
But man, I personally don't see any good for Xbox. All I can think of is Xbox Next will be a PC, plain and simple, and they'll cut off everything else except the biggest ABK and Zenimax IPs and go straight to 100% multiplatform publisher after they've wrapped up the X|S quickly.
