You're probably right, but I hope you're wrong. I don't want games to ever go fully digital even though it makes the most sense for any company to do so as far as I can tell.

I think e.g. Nintendo will always have a retail presence for their games. If the e-Shop is the only way to get games, then legislators are more keen to force a platform holder to open it up to competing digital stores. Retail is an alternative. If that means physical, key cards or vouchers remain to be seen though.
